Centre increases MSP of many crops including Wheat
New Delhi, September 21, 2020 : Modi Government has increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) of many crops including Wheat for upcoming Rabi season.
According to a tweet by BJP President JP Nadaa, MSP of Wheat has been increased by Rs. 50 per quintal to 1975 from 1925. Similarly MSP of Barley is saw an increase of Rs. 75 per quintal to Rs. 1600. MSP of grams has been increased by Rs. 225, other pulses from Rs. 200 to 300 per crop apart from increasing MSP of Sarson oil.
It is worth mentioning here that MSP of various Rabi crops are usually announced in first week of October but this time the Centre government has rushed through to announce it in mid September. Some political analysts are of the opinion that present announcement of the Modi Government is an attempt to counter farmers protests.
