Ludhiana, December 12, 2017: Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) is proactively looking at increasing the export volume with China in agricultural machinery sector.
This sentiment was conveyed to the visiting 5-member delegation of China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association (CAMDA) during its interaction with Ludhiana entrepreneurs at CICU Complex, in Focal Point area here on Monday.
Following exchange of information on the issue, the representatives of CICU’s member companies reached a consensus on increasing export to China. They got to know from their Chinese counterparts that the price of a Tractor was lower in China than India. “This made us understand the scope available of exporting agricultural implements as well to China,” said Upkar Singh Ahuja, the CICU chief.
Aiming at seizing this opportunity of mutual benefit, it was decided that CICU would send a delegation to China to participate in exhibition CIAME-2018 and correspondent CAMDA members making reciprocal participation in IETSS-2018 at Ludhiana.
Chen Tao, Vice-Chairman of CAMDA informed that China was the largest agricultural machinery producer country in the world. As per statistical record, some 2319 agricultural machinery enterprises with an annual sales income of no less than 20 million RMB reached a total income of 451.6 billion RMB, or 67.4 billion US dollars in 2016.
The output of tractor of 100 horsepower or above of enterprises above designated size in China was 63 thousand unit whereas the output of tractor between 25 horsepower and 100 horsepower 567 thousand unit, and the output of combine harvester was about 180 thousand unit, he added.
The rapid development of China's agricultural machinery industry owes to the policy of subsidies implemented in 2004. In 2016, the subsidy volume reached 22.8 billion RMB, or 3 billion US dollars.
Pankaj Sharma, Honey Sethi, S.B Singh, Rajat Gupta, Kuldeep Singh, Vipan Mittal, Tanuj Bassi, Sanjay Dhiman, Ram Lubhaya, Parmjit Singh Panser, Ravinder Saini, Sham lal Gupta and other prominent member entrepreneurs of CICU participated in the interaction.
