Textile giant Trident Limited in big trouble due to Data leakage and theft

Ludhiana, June 11, 2018: Trident Limited, a US$ 1 billion conglomerate having business interests in Home Textiles, Paper, Yarn, Chemicals and Captive Power is in big trouble as its business critical data and passwords of servers have been leaked.
Trident has its manufacturing facilities in Barnala, Punjab and Budhni Madhya Pradesh.
It is learnt that the Cyber Crime Cell of Punjab is investigating the case since first week of June, 2018.
The Company was amongst the first few manufacturing companies to implement SAP in 2004. Company has networked all its national & international offices. Data leakage and theft of passwords of most of its servers has put company in trouble.
The Company has customer base spread across more than 100 countries in 6 continents. Most of the large retail stores of US and Europe are part of its customer list.
The servers had complete business critical data including Companies customers, vendors, share holders, employees, raw materials, business plans, strategy documents, products, patents, finances, machines and production.
The Company had outsourced its IT Infrastructure Management to NIIT Technologies Limited to provide services relating to IT Operation Management, IT Service Management, Service Level Agreement framework for 3 years.
The NIIT had deployed a team of about 30 employees at Trident sites. NIIT had also installed some utilities / agents for remote access of Trident facilities.
