To impart training in latest technologies of construction industry to Civil Engineering students
Chandigarh, January 14, 2020: India’s leading civil engineering company, Everest Industries have established Everest Innovation Centre at the campus of Chandigarh University, Gharuan. The Innovation Centre will act a training ground of civil engineering students of the university where they will undergo practical hands-on learning of new-age technologies of the construction industry that are being practiced worldwide. Everest Innovation Centre was inaugurated by S. Krishna Kumar, Chief Executive, Building Solutions, Subhranshu Mohanty, Head HR and Dr. R.S.Bawa, Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University
While giving details about the Innovation Centre, Krishna Kumar, Chief Executive, Everest Industries said, “We have tried to aligned the academic syllabus taught to civil engineering students of CU with the latest requirements of the industry and have introduced new-age subjects such as Design of Metal Structures and Metal Building Software Lab”. Everest Industries and Chandigarh University have jointly invested Rs. 2-3 crores in the newly inaugurated innovation Centre, he added. “The civil engineering students of Chandigarh University will undergo training of the Metal Building Software, after which they will undertake research projects assigned to them by the company and finally the students will be selected by Everest Industries during campus placements” said, Subhranshu Mohanty, Head HR.
“Chandigarh University has always been known for imparting corporate based academic learning to its students so that they can learn the latest technologies and can be industry ready” said Dr. R.S.Bawa. Till date more than 30 multi-nationals have established their innovation centers, R&D facilities at Chandigarh University campus where the training is imparted by the industry experts which is a remarkable step towards bridging the industry-academia gap that have existed for a long time in India, added Vice-Chancellor.
