Punjab Board to declare results of 5th, 8th and 10th classes today (May 29)
Chandigarh, May 29, 2020: Punjab School Education Board may be declaring results of classes 5th, 8th and 10th class students in government and private schools today on May 29, 2020 at any time. The result will be declared on the basis of ‘Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation’- CCE – basis as already announced by the Punjab government.
The Punjab School Education Board had earlier postponed the exams for classes 8, 10 and 12 examinations in view of the imposition of curfew and lockdown due to Covid-19 threat in the country.
The Punjab Education Minister, Vijay Inder Singla had announced further postponement of classes 8, 10 and 12 exemptions which were postponed till March but some of the practical exams of Class 8 and theoretical exams of Class 12 was rescheduled for April 1. Besides this, some theoretical exams of Class 10 has also been deferred.
Later on, a committee consisting of members - Director SCERT Punjab, Salwinder Singh Samra, DEO(SS) Amritsar ( now retired), Kuldip Singh Head Master, Kheri Sangrur (now retire), and Dr. Mohan Lal Sharma Principal DAV Public School, Samana, Patiala – was constituted to submit its recommendations, in view of the present scenario of closing down of all educational institutions and extension of lockdown, due to coronavirus threat.
The Committee constituted by the Board of Directors of Punjab School Education Board in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic has submitted its recommendations in its meeting held on May 15 through a video conference, with regard to the announcement of results of 5th, 8th, 10th classes and the exams conducted through the open school system.
Accepting the recommendations of the Committee, the result of classes 5th, 8th and 10th classes will be declared on the basis of ‘Continuous and comprehensive Evaluation’- CCE – basis.
