Faculty Development Program on ‘Environmental Geotechnology’ held at SBS Tech Campus

Ferozepur, September 18, 2020: The Department of Civil Engineering of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus - SBSSTC, Ferozepur organized All India Council for Science & Technology – AICTE, sponsored a 6 days Faculty Development Program(FDP) on ‘Environmental Geotechnology’ in which 200 faculty members and research scholars from different institutes and universities of India participated.
The main aim of the course was to make the faculty and research scholars aware of the various aspects of the environment along with their remedial measures.
Director of SBSSTC, Ferozepur Dr. T. S. Sidhu inaugurated the FDP highlighting the importance of environmental issues in our day to day life. He also emphasized the need to save environment through sustainable research and practices.
Coordinator of the FDP, Dr. Bohar Singh welcomed the participants on a one-week FDP and acquainted the participants about the contents of the one-week training program.
In all, 14 Technical sessions were conducted on different areas covered in this five day program.
Expert speakers from various eminent organizations delivered lectures through online mode on the different subjects related to Environmental Geotechnology. Dr V K Garg, Prof - Central University of Punjab, Dr Manjit Bansal – MRSPTU, Bathinda, Sh S K Sahoo – PRSC Punjab, Sh Jit Kumar Gupta – Town Planner, Dr Jaspal Singh – Punjab Agriculture University, Dr Anil Kumar Haritash – DTU Delhi, Dr Mukta Sharma – IKGPTU Mohali, Dr Siby John PEC Chandigarh and Dr Rajiv Arora from SBSSTC, Ferozepur were among the expert lectures during the training program. An online test was also conducted, and the certificates were distributed to experts and the participants.
