In a highly competitive event 'INNO-TECH 2024' held at the Pushpa Gujral Science City Kapurthala, the students of GPC Khunimajra walked away with the first prize in the state-level project making competition.
The competition under polytechnic college student’s category, which saw huge participation from different institutes across the state, was aimed at encouraging innovative ideas in science and technology.
The victory has brought great pride to the institute, and the institute's principal, Rajeev Puri, congratulated the team on their remarkable achievement. "I am extremely proud of our students and their dedication to innovation and excellence," he said.
He extended appreciation to the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Anshu Sharma, and the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sanjeev Jindal, along with the project in charge, Sony Salot, and Manjit Singh, for their commendable efforts in leading the institute's team to a recent innovation event.
In a remarkable display of innovation and talent, GPC Khunimajra has clinched top honors in the prestigious Innotech competition hosted by PGSC for the third consecutive year.College media Incharge Gurbakshish Singh released the press note that
Five teams from GPC Khunimajra participated in the event.
The winning entry, titled "Water Management System," was submitted by Chhotu Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Jobanpreet Singh, and Kartikye Pundeer, guided by Sony Salot, a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Projects from the Electrical Engineering department, guided by Dr. Anshu Sharma and Sh. Avinish, were also appreciated by the judges.
The first prize comes with a cash prize of Rs. 7000, and the team from GPC is already planning to invest the money in further development of the project.
Additionally, they secured the esteemed runner-up trophy at a state-level tech fest organized by PTIS Punjab. This outstanding achievement shows GPC Khunimajra's unwavering dedication to pushing the boundaries of technological innovation under the able guidance of principal secretary technical education and Industrial training Vivek Pratap Singh IAS.
