Mahendragarh (Haryana), April 23, 2017: At Central University of Haryana (CUH), Each and every seat is high in demand; there is tremendous competition for admission. A total of 52,865 students has applied for 1,445 seats available under graduation, post graduation and research courses in the university. The online application process for the admission under Central University common entrance test (CUCET) has been completed and the entrance test will be held on 17 & 18 may 2017. Central University of Haryana Vice Chancellor Professor R.C.Kuhad said, “it is a matter of pleasure that this time huge numbers of students have applied for admission in our University. At one end this trend is just a certificate of our better efforts on the academic front while on the other end it also inspire us to responsibly move in the right direction in the future.”
Nodal officer of CUCET-2017 in the University Dr.Ajaypal Sharma explained that the online application process was open for almost one month and it ended on 19th April 2017. This year the admissions in various courses available in 10 central universities will be possible Via CUCET. Dr. Ajaypal explained that as a result of the tremendous turnoff students regarding admission in the Central University of Haryana, this time a tough competition for every seat is to be witnessed. This time maximum 4,743 applications have been received for B.Tech. Computer science & engineering. This course has only 60 seats. Electrical engineering course is 2ndmost in demand and third most is demanded course is Civil engineering. There have been received 4,292 and 4,002 applications respectively for 60-60 seats of each of these courses.
As far as other courses are concerned, at post graduation level a maximum number of applications i.e. 3,387 have received for Chemistry. For this course only 40 seats are available. In the same way there 3,286 applications for 40 seats of Physics, 2,880 applications for 40 seats of Mathematics, 1,882 applications for the B.Ed. course’s 100 seats, which is going to commence for the first time in the university and 263 applications for 50 seats of M.Ed. have been received. As far as Ph.D. and M.Phil. courses are concerned, in these courses maximum, 843 applications have been received for Ph.D. in biotechnology. Only four seats are available in the University for Ph.D. biotechnology. After that, the second number is that of Ph.D. in Microbiology for which four seats are available in the university and 798 applications have been received. This time a tremendous interest has also been perceived for Hindi too. Under online application process, 506 applications have been received for M.Phil. in Hindi and 598 applications for Ph.D. in Hindi. Both of these courses 3-3 seats are available in this year.
