Ferozepur, September 21, 2017: The teachers who are supposed to be in the class teaching the students today resume their agitation atop water tank and threatened to commit suicide in case the notification with regard to fill up the vacant posts is issued.
As many as, six teachers were sitting atop the water tank took pledge before climbing atop the water tank.
Giving this information, Jagdish Singh, President, TET Pass Union said, they are moving pillar to post to get the notification issued but despite giving repeated warnings, the government is not taking any action.
The TET pass candidates resumed their stir atop the water tank at GT road Dinangar in Gurdaspur. Immediately on getting the information, the civil and police administration was in action.
He further said, it is very unfortunate that even passing the Teachers Eligibility Test – TET – they are not being considered for appointment against the number of posts lying vacant and in the meantime, they will become over age and would not be in a position to apply anywhere else.
Giving a warning, he said, till such time notification to fill up the vacant posts is not issued, the six teachers sitting atop the water tank will not come down.
Among the six teachers, two are female – Sushil Kumar, Satnam Singh, Priyanka Rani, Paramjit Kaur, Radhe Krishan and Krishan Singh.
We and our families have suffered a lot and we are ready for more sacrifice, he added.
Paramjit Singh, Press Secretary from Fazilka informed that the TET pass have come down from the water tanks on assurance by the district administration to arrange meeting with the Secretary Education tommorrow.
