Chandigarh, December 14, 2017: A two-day International Conference on Innovations in Computing (ICIC-2017) was inaugurated at Chandigarh Group Of Colleges (CGC) Landran today. Organised by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering the conference brought together a bevy of distinguished researchers, academicians and international delegates on one platform.
ICIC-2017 seeks to find new possibilities in the field of Engineering and Technology specially focused on computing as also finding new trends and techniques of Computing for wider application. The conference would also see discussions pertaining to latest advancements in the field in addition to key research topics comprising mobile computing, cloud computing, data mining, big data and analytics, image processing, networks and others.
Dr. Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director Dr. B.R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, was the Chief Guest, Dr. Sanjay Sood, Joint Director, CDAC, Mohali, was the Guest of Honour.
Day one of the conference witnessed keynote addresses by Dr. Sri Parameswaran, University of New South Wales, Australia, Dr. Dharam Singh Jat, Namibia University of Science & Technology, Namibia, Dr. Poonam Dhaka, University of Namibia, Namibia in the first session. While Dr. Parameswaran enlightened the delegates on the subject of ‘Multicore Processors’, Dr Dharam Singh Jat gave an insight on ‘Futuristic Wireless Networks for Multimedia Applications’, Dr. Poonam Dhaka, shared her insights on ‘Internet Behaviour’.
The second session of Day one saw Dr. Kawaljeet Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala delivering a keynote address on ‘Enhancing Cross Border Connectivity among Punjabi Sikh Diaspora’ and Dr. Maninder Singh, Thapar University, Patiala, speaking on Information security.
