Organizes 4th Chrismed Annual Research and Education Symposium symposium
CMC Ludhiana showcases research work by its constituent colleges

Ludhiana, April 11, 2018: Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), Ludhiana organized its 4th Chrismed Annual Research and Education Symposium (CARES) symposium showcasing the research work done in all its five constituent Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Allied Health education colleges during the last academic year.
More than 100 abstracts were submitted and sent for review to experts all over the world and were then presented by students and faculty as competitive entries.
Dr William Bhatti, Director, lauded the efforts of faculty and students from all the colleges in presenting their research work.
Dr. Jeyaraj D. Pandian, Principal of CMC expressed his appreciation for the international level of research done in the institution. He also stated that the institution has received several research grants from national and international agencies.
In her inaugural address, the chief guest Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, an ICMR senior scientist for Non-communicable diseases, explained the importance of medical research in the country which can pave way for novel treatments. She participated in an open session where she encouraged and guided the faculty and students regarding the various funding opportunities available at national and international levels.
Among the posters presented in the morning, the top 10 were chosen for oral presentation in the afternoon. This was done by international reviewers. These topics ranged from community care, economic impact of direct medical care, knowledge about dental services and contemporary innovations in the field of medicine.
