“Internet has resulted in rapid increasing of global readers of Indian Literature as a result Hindi and other regional languages of India have got the necessary global platform & recognition” e should compulsory be taken-up at University level” said Dr. Madhav Kaushik, Vice-Chairman, National Sahitya Academy. He was speaking inauguration ceremony of the 4th National Literary Festival- Abhivyakti 2016 organized at the campus of Chandigarh University, Gharuan. More than 3000 students from 262 Universities and Colleges are participating in the 16 categories of literary competitions during the two day National Literary Festival.
A Panel Discussion on “Youth and Literature: Kitne Durr Kitne Pass” was held in which prominent writers, authors, poets, play writers all across India took part. Eminent authors and poets who took part in the Panel Discussion included Writer & Philosopher Mr. Tarun Kumar, Writer & Film Maker Dr. Neeranjan Patra, Cultural President, AIU & Poet Prof. Shyam Vashisht and Journalist & Writer Dr. Chander Trikha.
While participating in the panel discussion, Dr. Trikha said, “Social Media Companies like Facebook, Google, Wikipedia have realized the importance of regional languages and they are investing heavily in the Indian languages as it very important for their growth”. He further added that “Tools like digital media can be utilized to spread quality literature cutting across the regional & language barrier which means good literature written in any language can be shared globally”.
Kavi Samelan with noted poets taking part marked the conclusion of the first day of the two day National Literature Festival. Internationally acclaimed and Celebrated Urdy Poet, Rahat Indori, Janab Nawaz Deobandi and Dr. Kumud Bansal took part in the Kavi Samelan where they recited pieces from their award winning poems.
