Chandigarh, December 05, 2018: “Healthcare is one such field that will be most benefited by Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and countries like India need to invest in such futuristic technologies to improve the condition of medical facilities especially in rural areas” said World’s Youngest Computer Programmer & TEDx speaker Tanmay Bakshi. He was speaking during an interactive session “Knowledge Quest with Tanmay Bakshi” at the campus of Chandigarh University, Gharuan. Computer Science & IT Engineering students of Chandigarh University joined Tanmay Bakshi to understand the importance and applications of Artificial Intelligence in diversified fields.
Tanmay explained to the students that extensive use of artificial intelligence in healthcare sector can help in saving many precious lives. “Humans are more prone to making errors due to emotional behavior, stress and artificial intelligence completely fits into the generating solutions for the healthcare issues as the machine can learn on their past experiences and improve the treatment & medication process making it much faster and error prone”.
While delivering his address to the budding engineering students of the university, Tanmay explained that his latest research in the field of neural network which is a computer system simulated on the human brain and nervous system known as Cognitive Story that will help in much earlier diagnosis of depression & hence reducing the suicidal tendency in humans. The Indian origin techno kid from Toronto contests to the common belief that AI will lead to job cuts as he says that the technology although disruptive in nature will augment human effort.
While talking about his future projects, Tanmay said “We are dealing with a quadriplegic girl named Boo who is unable to communicate due to her disability”. To help Boo communicate, Tanmay & his team is building a device that will scan her brain waves that will use deep learning algorithms to understand Boo's electroencephalography brain waves and convert them to natural language, so that she can convey her thoughts.
