BATHINDA, JANUARY 17
To document its opinions on vision of New India, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda is all set to hold a District Youth Parliament (DYP) under the Government of India initiative on January 24.
Persons in the age group of 18 and 25 years are eligible to participate in the Youth Parliament. The individuals need not necessarily be a student of an educational institution to participate in the sessions. The youth can participate in Punjabi, English or Hindi language.
Preliminary rounds of walk-in screening started here on Thursday to select youth for participation in the DYP, which will continue till January 19 . A panel of jury will judge the judge the youth on the given subject on the basis of articulation, clarity of thought , content knowledge and demeanour .
In a press release issued here on Thursday, MRSPTU, NSS Co-ordinator, Ar. Ranjit Kaur told that it is a part of the process of National Youth Festival 2019, which is organised under National Service Scheme (NSS), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. She asserted that it would make students understand public issues, common man’s point of view and form their opinion on larger issues.
The sessions will be conducted at three levels. The District Youth Parliament (DYP) will be conducted at the district level on January 24.The selected youth will then participate in the State Youth Parliament (SYP). Similarly, the youth selected by a jury from the SYP will participate in the National Youth Parliament (NYP)
