BATHINDA, MARCH 20, 2019: MS. Lovepreet Kaur, Second year student of Bachelor of Architecture, Giani Zail Singh - School of Architecture & Planning, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, have won “YUVA RATNA 2019 AWARD”at 15th National level design competition organised by Unit Birla White Cement of Aditya Birla group.
Ms. Lovepreet Kaur designed an AGANWADI at Kerala for the kids of tribal Community. The thrust of design was on the climate conditions, locally available material, and topography of the site along with living style of the tribal. The jury was extremely impressed with the design ability of the students from MRSPTU, Bathinda.
The Award includes a Trophy, Certificates and Appreciation Award. It was received by student guide Prof. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot and Ms. Lovepreet Kaur in a felicitation ceremony held in Mumbai on March 15 for which the winning team was invited.
This design competition is one of the most prestigious annual Design competitions which inspire the budding architects of today to give flight to their wings of imagination and creativity. YUVA RATNA is platform for budding Architects aims at arming the architectural fraternity with knowledge.
The jury for National Level Design competition YUVA RATNA 2019 was held at Mumbai . For the event, around 2000 entries in which 5000 students from more than 100 Architecture colleges from all over the country were judged by prominent Architects of the country. Students of first, second and fourth year of GZSCCET participated in this competition.
The winning team of GZS- School of Planning and Architecture, MRSPTU Bathinda was able to go past National level institutions and this is for the fourth time in the 15 year old history of the awards that students from this institution have been declared winners. The Design in-charges for various years were Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh and Prof. Kapil Arora.
The Design project was introduced as studio design problem under the guidance of Team guide Prof. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot, Ar. Kajal Handa and Ar. Lakshay Goyal, who played pivotal role in shaping the design projects.
Head of Department, Prof. Ripu Daman Singh said that these events aim at spurring the enthusiasm positively towards fostering a national interactive platform that would have a more far-reaching impact.
Campus Director , Dr Saveena Bansal and University Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Jasbir Singh Hundal praised the worthy performance by the students in the National level competition.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar termed the stellar performance as a path breaking one and said that this award would help build confident professionals who have been awake to the external situation right from the campus itself.
