Ferozepur March 24, 2019: Civil Engineering Department of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur organized one-day ‘Remote Sensing Awareness Programme’.
Giving details of the programme Dapinder Singh, Organizer said, the programme has been organized in collaboration with the Indian Society of Remote Sensing Ludhiana Chapter and Punjab Remote Sensing Centre, Ludhiana. The key-note speaker of the programme was S.K.Sahu Scientist.
Sahu in his address highlighted on remote sensing technology in the field of civil engineering of Geographical Information System - GIS and architecture. The programme was participated by more than 150 students.
He said, “Remote sensing is the art and science of making measurements of the earth using sensors on airplanes or satellites. These sensors collect data in the form of images and provide specialized capabilities for manipulating, analyzing, and visualizing those images. Remote sensed imagery is integrated within a GIS”.
On this occasion, Principal Avinash Singh of School of Architecture, Head of Civil Engg Department, Prof Gurpreet Singh, Madam Parampreet Kaur, Assistant Prof Gursimran Singh and in a good number of staff and students were present.
