Ludhiana 14th April 2019: CLAT 2019 on 26th May, 2019:
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2019 will be conducted on May 26, 2019. The exam will be conducted by National Law University Odisha, Cuttack (NLUO) for the admission in the year 2019-2020 in 21 National law universities and 31 Law colleges and Universities in India. The common law admission test will be administered offline. The online application process for CLAT 2019 has already started on the CLAT website and the last date to apply is 15th April 2019.
Around 58,000 appeared in CLAT 2018:
Last year around 58,000 candidates appeared for the CLAT 2018. This year the number may increase as the interest of the students in Legal Education is growing dynamically across the Country. This year around 60,000 candidates are expected to appear in CLAT exam.
Aryans only in Punjab to become part of CLAT:
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans College of Law, Rajpura said that Aryans College of Law is the only College in Punjab which has now also become part of those top Universities and Colleges of Legal Studies to use CLAT Score for the admissions in LL.B (3 Years) and BA-LL.B (5 Years), B.Com-LL.B (5 Years) program from 2019-20 academic year.
Kataria thanked the CLAT committee for making Aryans the part of CLAT & permitting to use CLAT Score for its admissions. Kataria further thanked the students and staff for taking the law college to such a top position in short span of time with their efforts made in academics, innovations etc.
Kataria further added that in North India, Chandigarh has emerged out as the most preferred destination for the students of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, J&K etc.
CLAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria:
For undergraduate programme (five-year Integrated Law Degree), an applicant must be a pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of a 45% marks for all categories except for SC/ST categories in which case the applicant needs to have 40% marks.
For post-graduate programme (one year LLM degree), an applicant must have LLB degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need to have 50% marks in LLB degree. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April/May 2019 are also eligible to apply.
