Fatehgarh Sahib. September.17, 2019: Due to the revolutionary changes in the education system the state has jumped to number two positions in the country in the field of education and the credit goes to the hard working and dedicated teachers of the department. The exceptionally good results of the board exams from the last two years have not only resulted many fold enrolment of students in Govt. schools, but also bought laurels to the education department, which is providing need based education, said Krishan Kumar Secretary Education, while addressing a function organised by the district Education department to honour 1277 dedicated teachers of the district whose result was 100% in the board examinations here today. He not only appreciated the efforts of the teachers but also exhorted them to carry on with their missionary zeal to lead their wards from ignorance to light and from glory to glory.
Justifying the honouring of teachers, he said that this honour is just a sort of motivation for them to work with greater vigour and enthusiasm to repeat this performance. He said already more than 22000 teachers from nine districts have been honoured for showing excellent results.
Latter answering the queries regarding other duties assigned to teachers by district administration, he said that the teachers are there to provide education only and not to be put on any other duty, if the administration wants staff to be put on any duty non teaching staff can be assigned the job. He said the education gets derailed when the teaching staffs are put on other duties for number of days and the very purpose is defeated.
He said that 375 Centre head teachers and 1558 head teachers have been recruited directly through competition and they are fully IT trained and after training they will join the duty and hope they will bring further revolution and provide quality education as e- content education system has been introduced. He said 3400 schools have been converted into smart schools.
Answering another query about recruitment of teachers, he said that the department has urged the finance department, but the finance department has sought the present teacher student ratio as per RTE and now the education department is going to start rationalisation of teachers software has been ready and after getting exact number of vacancies new recruitment will be made.
