"In-depth knowledge of law and use of right language is must for successful career in law": Justice S.S Saron former Judge Punjab & Haryana High Court
Chandigarh, October 13, 2019: Government Law College, Mumbai won the final round of the 3rd National Moot Court Competition 2018 organized by University Institute of Legal Studies, Chandigarh University Gharuan. On the final day of the National Moot Court Competition, team from GLC Mumbai beat the team from Geeta Institute of Law in the final round and bagged the cash prize of Rs.51000 along with the winning trophy. Team from Symbiosis Law School, Pune won the Best Memorial Award while Jaya Raja Pauline from Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Tamil Nadu lifted the Best Mooter trophy. The Best Researcher Award was also won by Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Tamil Nadu student, Syed Ali Fatima. Justice S.S Saron, Former Judge of Punjab & Haryana High Court and Chairperson Punjab Revenue Commission presided over the final round & closing ceremony and honored the winners. P.N. Parashar former member Competition Commission of India (CCI) and Kuldeep Kumar, Joint Director CCI graced the occasion as Guest of Honor for the valedictory ceremony. More than 40 teams from premier Law institutions all over India participated during the 3rd National Moot court competition at Chandigarh University.
Earlier during the second day of the National Moot court competition, 4 teams battled out in the semifinal round where each team were given a proposition to prepare a case regarding Competition and Constitutional Laws. Winning team GLC Mumbai comprising of Devansh, Janay & Pranav presented their case as a petitioner while the runner up team Geeta Institute of Law, Panipat comprising of Sarthak Mishra, Rhea Bajaj & Hritik Yadav presented their case as respondent.
While addressing the Law students from all across the India during the closing ceremony of the event Justice S.S Saron said,"In order to achieve success and build a strong career in law, the students need to possess in-depth knowledge of every aspect of law and also command over the language while arguing the case in court”. While advising the new generations of Law professionals Justice Sharon said," The students should possess deep knowledge of every law and acts so that the party which is trusting them in the judicial process should get a fair trial".
