Mohali 10th November 2019: As a paragon of developing a humanistic society, Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized an educational visit for its GNM and ANM students to the Society for welfare of the Handicapped and old age home, Patiala.
Principal, Mrs. Renu Singla oriented the students to different departments of the School and the teaching methods being adopted for the special children like Braille Language, JAWS software that allows the blind users to read the screen with text to speech output etc. Students also interacted with the deaf dumb & blind children.
Later the students visited old age home in Patiala where the incharge, Mr. Sareen Lakhwinder enlightened them about various problems being faced by the elderly because of the weakened socio-cultural fabric.
Students got a chance to interact with the old people and learned about geriatric age conditions, disease conditions etc of old age. Mr. Sareen encouraged the students to become the helping hands of the elderly. Students pledged to work for educating society about the problems and needs of senior citizens.
