Legendary figure Dara Singh is no more wod actor Dara Singh passes away.He was battling for life in a private hospital in Mumbai following a massive cardiac arrest on July 7. Born 19 November 1928 at Dharmoo chak village of Amritsar (Punjab) the commonwealth wrestling champion entered film industry in the fifties and is known for his roles in King Kong and Faulad. He was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met (2007) playing Kareena Kapoor's grandfather. The veteran actor played the character of Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar's epic television series Ramayan. From his first marriage, he has a son named Parduman Singh Randhawa and from his second marriage he has five children two sons and three daughters including TV-film actor Vidhu Dara Singh. He successfully competed against some of the greatest names in wrestling history and professional wrestlers in the United States. He defeated Lou Thesz (America) and became Champion of the World on 29 May 1968. He was nominated member of Rajya Sabha by Bhartiya Janata Party during August 2003 – August 2009.Dara Singh expires at 7.30 AM on July12, 2012.He was an ideal human being from all aspects of life.He was the first to set up a Film studio in Mohali in the 80s in the form of Dara Studio.
