‘Nadhoo Khan’ Punjabi movie lands in controversy before release, lyricist Gama levelled charges on producer
Ferozepur April 18, 20019: Putting claim on a sad song by lyricist Gama Sidhu, in Punjabi feature film – Nadhoo Khan, produced by Harpeer Devgun and co-producers, has landed in controversy before its release in the last week of April.
The famous songwriter Gurnam Sidhu alias Gama Sidhu has decided to knock the doors of court of law to get justice against adding his song in the film without his written consent.
Addressing the media persons here today, the State Awardee from the Punjab Government, National Youth Award winner from the President of India, comedian, journalist, anchor and songwriter Gurnam Sidhu said that his original song, the copy right of which is with him, has been included in the film. Not only this, his name was cut from the first song and now even after repeated requests, his song is not being removed from the movie.
Gama Sidhu said that he is a member of 'Screenwriter Association Mumbai' and he had registered the song on 30th November, 2018 and adding the song with his permission is a violation of the laws.
He said that the film producers have released the poster of his song and now he has decided to knock the court of law to get justice.
It is worth mentioning that singers like Gurnam Sidhu have sung names like Satinder Satraj, Kulwinder Billa, Ami Virk, Miss Puja, Dharamvir Takadi, Deepak Hans and Jaggi Sidhu.
On this occasion, the counsel for Gurnam Sidhu was also present in the court, Gursahb Mal lawyer, Manjinder Bhullar High Court, Amrik Mudka, Rajvindar, Jarnail Singh Virk, lyricist Sidhu Sarabjit, film producer Simarjeet Sandhu.
