Ludhiana, September 6, 2019: Government of Punjab has ordered the suspension of telecast of TV serial “Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush” in the state.
Earlier, a controversy erupted over the telecast of TV serial and Various Valmiki outfits of Punjab - Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj (Bhavadas), Aad Dharam Samaj, Mahatma Ravan Sena, Valmiki Shakti Sena, Luv Khush Dal - gave a Bandh Call for September 7 demading to withdraw airing of TV serial Ram Siya Ke Luv Kushwith besides registration of a case against the director, actors and producer of the programme, for presenting with distorted facts.
Color TV channel has recently launched its new show titled Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, which is aired three times in a day.
While the serial turns out to be one of the biggest mythological entertainers for viewers but various Valmiki outfits have come forward to protest for showing with distorted facts and tarnishing the image of Bhagwan Valmiki.
Speaking to the media persons, Pippal Sahota and others, spokesman of Valmiki community said, it is very unfortunate that the serial has been produced with disfigured facts and without going into the historical facts. The telecast of serial has hurt the sentiments of entire Valmiki community.
He said, we respect all religions but a representative of religious body should also be taken as member of Censor Board and any serial based on religious background should be telest only on its clearance, to avoid any such controversy in future.
