Chandigarh/April 12 - Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to felicitated the Khalsa Panth on the Khalsa Sthapna Divas and Baisakhi and appealed to the Sikhs to observe the day as per the guidelines issued by by the respected Jathedar Sahib of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh ji who has asked
the Sikh community to offer prayers at home on Baisakhi day and contemplate and recite the Mool Mantra at home.
Jahedar Sahib has also directed Sikh organizations not to organize big gatherings on the festival in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. .He had instead asked the community to celebrate the day by listening to Gurbani Kirtan through livestream from Takhat Shri Damdama Sahib. In his message on the eve of Basakhi, Mr Badal said that for the Sikhs, Baisakhi symbolises the spirit of Chardi Kala ( The Victorious Spirit) and dedication the ideals of Sarbat da Bhala ( Welfare of the Whole Humanity) . "Under the prevailing cirucumsatances, Sikhs are leading the humanity's war on the invisible enemy, the Coronavirus
by remaining in the forefront of efforts to help the poor, the needy and the hungary. The same spirit will help mankind overcome the challenge."
Mr Badal appealed to the Sikh masses to dedicate themselves to "Sarbat da Bhala" with renewed vigour.
