April.24, 2020 - All the 42 samples taken of COVID suspect including the six contacts of the Rajpura positive have been reported negative making Fatehgarh Sahib District COVID free at the moment. Both the positive Talbigi Jammati women have already been cured and discharged from Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur as both of them were tested negative twice, said Dr. N.K.Aggarwal Civil Surgeon Fatehgarh Sahib. He said luckily no case has been reported positive in the district for the last two weeks.
He said that to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the district a special survey, screening and testing has been initiated in all the villages of the district adjoining to the Rajpura area of Patiala district through CHC Chanarthal Kalan.
He said that today during random sampling 55 samples were taken, in the district hospital Fatehgarh Sahib 9, Mandi Gobindgarh 11, Chanarthal Kalan 8, Bassi Pathana 12, Khamano 8 and Khera hospital 7 samples were taken. He said two positive has already been cured.
He called upon the people to help the government in war against COVID-19 by obeying the instructions and remaining inside by maintaining social distancing as it is the only mean to defeat COVID.
