BSF starts sensitization drive in border villages
Ferozepur, April 27, 2020: Border Security Force –BSF – today started sensitization drive in bordering villages in AOR of SHQ BSF Ferozepur.
Corona virus disease (COVID-19) has spread across the World alarmingly and has been declared a health emergency of international concern. In order to contain/prevent the spread of Coronavirus, decontamination and disinfection of houses and common public places are extremely important.
From today onwards Sector Headquarter, Ferozepur has started a drive to sanitize all bordering villages (phase-wise and village wise manner full) in the Area of Responsibility – in total 79 villages - in the presence of Shri Mahipal Yadav, IPS, IG BSF Punjab Frontier.
DCM Shriram Ltd, Kota (Rajasthan) provided approx 2500 ltrs of Sodium Hypochlorite solution for this admirable work as well as District administration has also been associated with providing manpower for disinfection process. M/s Kudu Knit Process Pvt Ltd, Ludhiana, has been provided 1000 reusable face masks for farmers of the bordering area.
Further till date, following activities have also been carried out by units under Punjab Frontier against the fight with COVID-19 for border villages - 48 Awareness programs conducted, 21 Sanitization drive conducted, 11,500 Masks distributed till date to the border population, 24 Distribution of Ration/Food packets programme, following the protocol devised to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
BSF has always worked for various social causes & will continue to do so in the future and this act will go a long way in serving the border population and enhancing the harmonious bond between Seema Praharis and the border population, said PRO BSF Punjab Frontier.
