DC solicits people’s support to maintain current status in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 29, 2020: Constable Paramjot Singh of Village Wada Bhai Ka on Wednesday received a memorable farewell from civil hospital Ferozepur after winning his war against the Corona Virus.
Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Kulwant Singh personally visited the civil hospital to hand over him a discharge slip and presented him a flower besides appreciating him for his high morale and confidence to win this war against the deadly virus.
Staff at civil hospital Ferozepur showered flowers on the cured constable while he was heading to home after a long period in the isolation ward. The DC further appreciated the role of all frontline workers and officials in these difficult times.
DC said that the first sample of Constable Paramjot Singh was taken on April 27 followed by next sample on April 28 and both of them were report negative on April 28, 2020, adding he said that now the constable has to undergo a compulsory quarantine period as a part of protocol fixed by the state government.
Kulwant Singh expressed his satisfaction that all the 34 primary contacts of Constable Paramjot Singh including his family members. He termed these results as a sigh of relief for the district.
Having been discharged from the hospital constable Paramjot Singh said that he can never forget the way he was treated in the hospital and how the officials of district administration were regularly taking stock of his health through phone calls.
He expressed his gratitude towards the efforts made by the district administration and the support provided by the officials to bring him out of this infection.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Navdeep Singh said that the district hospital had only a single patient in the isolation ward which finally got discharged after the fruitful treatment.
He said that so far the health department has taken samples of 633 people in the district for the Covid-19 test out of which 345 have been tested negative and the result of 289 samples was still awaited.
He said that the health department was fully geared up to fight against this deadly virus with multi-pronged preparations including Covid care centers, quarantine facilities, strengthened testing, isolation wards, ventilator facilities, and many more.
