Fatehgarh Sahib. May 02, 2020: Due to COVID-19 there is complete lock down but surprisingly approximately 250 boxes of Scotch and costly whisky have been stolen from the godown of L1 wholesale wine contractor Tinku Wines situated at Sanipur road Sirhind near GT Road, which raises question over the working of Sirhind police. The police on the complaint of Ashok Kumar resident of Morinda Manager of L-1 have register the FIR in this regard.
He has reported that the firm Tinku wine has 15 wine shops in Sirhind area and firm has taken a godown on rent on Sanipur Road from the last three years. He said on 27th April he went to godown and found that the locks were broken and the boxes of whisky and an iron Almirah is missing, in which they used to keep cash, even the DVR and CCTV cameras are damaged . He reported that firm suffered a huge loss of Lakhs, which will be reported after proper counting.
The wine contractors alleged that Sirhind police did not take it seriously and even FIR was registered on 30th April and no efforts have been made to take the CCTV footage from adjoining areas.
When contacted Amneet Kondal SSP she said that FIR has been registered and police will investigate it from all angles. She said she has directed to recover the CCTV footage from adjoining residences and will investigate delay in filling FIR.
