MSME Industry in Non-Designated Areas will resort to agitation if not allowed to operate by May 17
Ludhiana, May 8, 2020 : MSME Industry in Non-Designated Areas will resort to agitation if they will not be allowed to operate by May 17, 2020. This decision was taken by Industrialists in a meeting of all leading associations.
Meeting was called to discuss the issues of Factories not allowed to operate in Mix Land Areas which was attended by attended by all leading associations. It was was attended by Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU, Jaswinder Singh Thakural, Councilor MCL & President Janta Nagar Small Scale Association, Gurmeet Singh Kular, President FICO,Charanjit Singh Vishavkarma, Ex. President UCPMA, Jaswinder Singh Birdi Vice president CICU, Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU, Pal Singh Bhamber, Rana Bansal besides others.
It was unanimously decided that approximately 40,000 industry in the city having UAM number by MSME is passing through a panic time. Industry is mostly Micro in nature. Owners of their industry are not rich and small factories are only bread earner for them. They are ready to revolt and start factories, if Govt. do not take favorable action and start factories on 17th May, 2020. It was also stressed that Medium and Large Scale Industry will not be able to run production, if total supply chain will not working and will be forced to close. Most of ties 2, ties 3 suppliers in city and non-designated areas. It was observed that Industry will survive only minimum 70% supply chain including retail shops, ware houses, small industry are operating. Even small units in non-designated area are ready to follow standard operating procedure to control the COVID-19, if they are allowed to operate.
It was also noted that there are number of units manufacturing Garment in non-designated areas are having export order are losing business, as they are not allowed to operate and 5 lac workers in non-designated area, which are free from work and it will raise unemployment in these areas.
In the meeting all associations urged the Centre Govt. and State Govt. to allow industry having UAM number allotted by Ministry of MSME.
