Five teams of Municipal Council working round the clock
Ferozepur City sanitized twice with 2,000 liters disinfectant chemical to contain virus
Ferozepur, May 12, 2020: With the spray of two thousand liters of sodium hypochlorite (disinfectant material), Ferozepur city has been sanitized twice in the last few days, said today the Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Kulwant Singh.
Divulging more, the DC said that so far 1.30 Lakh population of the Ferozepur city has been covered twice with the disinfectant spray adding he said that a total of two thousand liters of chemical material has been used in this task.
He said that an intensive drive was launched to sanitize the urban and rural areas of the district as a part of which the whole city has been sanitized twice in the last few days. The deputy commissioner added that besides fogging, all the private and public banks, ATMs, Hospitals, Sewa Kendras, government officers, secondary garbage collection points, quarantine centers, commercial areas were being sanitized on a routine basis.
Kulwant Singh said that five special teams of the municipal council including a fire brigade vehicle were deployed on this task and were working round the clock to contain this virus in the city adding he said that the district administration would leave no stone unturned to win this fight against the coronavirus.
The Executive Officer Municipal Council Ferozepur, Parminder Singh Sukhija and Sanitary Inspector Sukhpal Singh said that the council was conducting fogging and spraying tasks daily. They said that earlier in a unique initiative the MC had painted all the main roads of the city with awareness slogans and portraits depicting the benefits of social distancing, personal hygiene, and staying home, which was also adopted by the other districts.
