Pinehurst (North Carolina, US), May 15, 2020: Veteran Golfers Association, which is made of US citizens who have served in the armed forces, has announced that it will be starting the 2020 VGA Tour season on June 1.
VGA has laid down the following guidelines which need to be followed strictly in light of the coronavirus pandemic:
- Limited Playing Fields (Max of 72 Players)
- Players must keep 6 feet distance between them at all times
- No shaking hands, hugs, fist bumps, or skin-to-skin contact
- Eliminating shotgun starts (tee times only)
- Online scoring only through GolfStatus App (no scorecards)
- Only one player per cart or walking only (no spectators or family members in carts)
- Limited driving range capacity (12 player maximum)
- No group photos (on or off the golf course)
- No social gatherings before or after our events
- We highly discourage out of state traveling for any VGA tournament
- No flag-stick removal during play
- No rakes in bunkers; do your best to fix the bunker with your feet or club prior to exiting
- Local golf course rules will apply (ie. raised cup, bumper cup, pvc piping or foam in holes).
