Ferozepur Corona update: 94 percent tested negative, 29 sample results pending
Ferozepur, May 19, 2020: With 1680 samples tested negative out of the total 1779 samples, the percentage of negative COVID-19 cases was around 94 percent in the district so far, said Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Kulwant Singh.
Divulging more, the DC said that around 94% of the total throat swab tests conducted in the district to detect Corona Virus were tested negative of Corona Virus.
As of now, there is no positive case in Ferozepur and we can say, Ferozepur is corona-free.
As a result of intensified sampling drive till now 1779 samples have been taken in the district out of which 44 were found positive whereas 1680 samples have been tested negative, which was around 94 percent of the total sampling. However, the result of 30 samples was still pending with the laboratories, he added. While 43 positive have been discharged on testing negative and one patient died and in 26 cases re-sampling was done and results of 29 are pending.
Notably, in a major development lately, all 44 positive patients were discharged from the hospital after their test reports reported negative adding he said that all of them were found hale and hearty with no symptoms.
The DC said that the district administration had launched a drive to conduct Covid-19 tests of people who had returned from other states. Subsequently, positive tested people were shifted to the isolation ward of the civil hospital, where best of the treatment was provided to them as a result of which all of them recovered within few days, said the deputy commissioner.
The deputy commissioner called upon the people not to get panicky as the district administration was taking all the necessary steps to win the war against the Corona Virus adding he solicited people's support to contain this deadly virus. He said that the prevailing crisis can be won over by observing the golden principle of social distancing, self-restriction of unnecessary movement, and personal hygiene.
