Education Secretary holds" on line interaction" with teachers across the state to redress grievances.

Nawanshahr, May 21, 2020: In a first of its kind unique initiative, the Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, today, held a mega " on Line Interaction" with the school teachers through youtube link today. The mega event was aimed at lending ear to the grievances of the teachers as due to the lock down the delivery of the utility services at offices of the education department remained paralysed. About 10,000 school teachers across the state joined the youtube link to participate in the " On Line Meeting" to share their problems and grievances directly with the Education Secretary. The officials of the Education Department , including DPI(Elementary), Inderjit Singh, Assistant Director, Shalinder Singh, State Coordinator, Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab", Dr. Davinder Boha, Nodal Officers deputed at the state headquarter and the District Education Officers were also attending the "On Line Meeting" from their respective places.
During the meeting, the teachers including Jagshir Singh Sahota ( GPS, Lallewala), Baljinder Khiyala Angrej Singh, Jashandeep Kulana( Mansa), Jaswant Saini, Surinderpal Kaur (Ferozepur), Jatinderjit ( Ropar), Kuldip Singh(Sangrur), Hardev Singh, Vidhya Devi ( Ludhiana), Ranjit Singh( Talwandi Sabo), Chandan Kiran, Gurpreet, among others, raised the issues , including transfers of the directly recruited HTs, CHTs, pending issues related to the Zila Parishadh teachers , seniority, promotions etc. Besides, the teachers also sent their written representations regarding their problems / grievances on the youtube link during the interaction.
Krishan Kumar, while giving patient hearing to all the issues, problems and grievances put up during the interaction, asked the concerned officials to redress them on merit at the earliest possible. He also asked the Nodal Officers and the District Education Officers to organise such " On lIne Interactions" with the teachers at the district level to redress the grievances of the teachers so that they could concentrate more on taking ' virtual classes' , "on line enrollment", and other academic and co-curricular activities during the Lock Down period.
He also lauded the dedicated efforts being put in by the teachers for the successful implementation of the "Ghar Baithe Shikhiya" programme and enhancement of enrollment in government school despite facing many odds during the Lock Down in the wake of pandemic COVID-19.
