Nawanshahr, May 25, 2020: After bagging COVID free tag again, SBS Nagar has also become Containment Zone free District today by setting its last contained village Gunachaur free of all bans.
Divulging details, Deputy Commissioner , Vinay Bublani said that Monday has brought a double delight for our district. "On the one side, we have again retained the COVID free district tag that was lost on April 25 with the surfacing of one new positive case of a driver who had come back from Jammu and on the other way we have freed last village Gunachaur today by lifting all bans imposed on it under Containment Zone .
Recalling the odd days of sealing of a total of 24 villages due to surfacing of COVID patients to stop further spreading of disease, deputy commissioner said that we have no other option to save the people of particular affected area by curtailing their activities to a limited zone.
Now, when all of the patients have been sent to their homes and state has revised the parameters of containment zones to minimum of 15 patients in that area, we have revoked the containment of our last village Gunachaur too, added Mr. Bublani.
It is worthwhile to mention here that SBS Nagar district administration had brought two dozens of villages under containment plan, 15 including Pathlawa in first phase and 9 more including a ward of Banga city in second phase.
