4000 smart ration card holders derived benefit on May 27
S.A.S. Nagar, May 27, 2020: The Food and Civil Supplies Department, is dedicatedly approaching the task to providing food grains and pulses under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna’ to all the beneficiaries registered under the National Food Security Act, 2013.
Disclosing this, the Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan informed that that there are two components of the National Food Security Act, 2013, Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) and the Priority Households (PHH). In the District, the total number of beneficiaries under the AAY is 2032 while thenumber of beneficiaries under the PHH is 105564 which takes the total tally of beneficiaries to 107596. Out of these that till date 60,000 smart ration card holders have been provided slated amount of wheat and dal. As of now, 55 percent distribution work has been accomplished , saidGirish and added that cent percent coverage of beneficiaries may take another 10 days.
He also added various that teams have been formed by the Food and Civil Supplies Department which are keeping a check on the entire process besides ensuring that the social distancing norms during undertaking the distribution are being strictly followed.
It may be recollected that as per the scheme, the registered beneficiariesare being provided with 5 Kg of wheat per member per month for 3months and 1 Kg of Dal per family per month (3 months lumsum) free ofcost. Today, the distribution work was undertaken in Villages Dyalpura, Hasanpur, Lehli, Badana, Lalru (Urban), Amlala, Jawaharpur, Ram Mandir Derabassi, Sanauli, Bhabat, Derabassi (Urban), in Derabassi Block, Villages Palanpur, Dulwa Khadri, Mundi Kharar,Rasanheri, Gabbemajra, Magghar, in Kharar Block, Manauli, Jhajjon, Dharamgarh, Budanpur, Chadiala, Kailon, Landran, Bhagomajra, Manakmajra, Mataur,Sohana in Mohali Block and approximately 4000 smart ration card holders were given the ration.
