Continue in e-learning mode for current academic session
Parent’s appeal on social media – No school until zero Covid case or Vaccines are out
Ferozepur, June 1, 2020: Parents Association has made an appeal on the social media to sign the petition to support their decision in a tagline – “No school until zero Covid case or Vaccines are out”
During the Lockdown 5.1/Unlock-1, the decision to open the schools have not yet been taken, as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus and most of the schools – private as well as government - have started, online classes.
Teaching and learning style besides personal lifestyle has to be changed with the changed circumstances beyond the control, said educationists Dr Satinder Singh and Dr Rajiv Arora.
In the meantime, the Punjab Board has declared the results of 5th, 8th and 10th classes for 2020 academic session, on gradation basis as the exams could not be completed for these classes
Meanwhile, on social media, an online petition has been floated to sign and is in circulation in the various groups, with a message – No Schools until Zero Covid Case in the State or until Vaccines are out.
Some parents association has started this petition to parents and others and so far, by the time of filing this news, 3,06,813 have already signed it. Let’s go to 5,00,000 is indicated. One Yugtesh in my contacts from Solan forwarded this to me with a request – Can you help me out by singing this petition?
It looks that both parents and children are scared of the coronavirus threat and don’t want to send their wards to the schools for the time being.
Below the petition format, it is added that opening of schools in July will be the worst decision by the Govt. It's insane. It's like playing with fire when we ought to douse it with full force. The parents should fight against this stupidity with tooth n nail, not a single child to be sent to the schools for their own safety.
The current academic session should continue in e-learning mode. If the schools claim that they are doing a good job via virtual learning then why not continue it for the rest of the academic year.
