Barnala : Drug peddler tests Covid-19 positive, judicial officers and cops sent for home quarantine
Barnala, June 4, 2020: With a person arrested under NDPS – Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance _ NDPS Act case testing positive for coronavirus, 4 judicial officers of Barnala and the staff/officials attached with them have been ordered to go for home quarantine.
The accused Zulfikar alias Zulfi son of Mohammad Deen of Mehal Kalan of Barnala District has been found to be Covid-19 positive. He was arrested on May 23 and 12,000 tablet of Clovidol 100 SR were recovered from him. He was taken to CIA staff headquarters at Barnala for investigations. A test was conducted on the man and when the report was received on Thursday, he tested positive.
Nearly 50 cops, including SSP Sandeep Goel have been asked to go in for home quarantine. The officials who are reported to have come in contact during arresting him from Malerkotla and making investigations to know his sources of getting habit forming drugs and its further supplies to the persons have also been sent for home quarantine.
Amrinder Pal Singh, ACJM, Vineet Kumar Narang, CJM, Ms Surekha rani JMIC and Vijay Singh Dadwal JMIC Barnana and the staff/officials attached with them will also got for home quarantine.
However, the duty work shall be performed for the month of June 2020 by Ms Kulwinder Kaur JMIC Barnala till further orders.
