Meeting with Chairman Satbir Singh Pallizhikki and other leaders regarding the development of Banga

Nawanshahr, June 18 , 2020: Manish Tewari, Member Lok Sabha and former Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting visited Banga today and lauded the services rendered by the tehsil administration for the prevention of Covid-19.
He said that the Covid-19 cases from Pathalawa village of Banga in Punjab were a challenge for the entire state including the district. He said that in spite of all this the hard work done by the entire administration day and night to bring the district out of this pandemic ,it could be made possible due to the hard work done by the health department, civil administration, police administration and other departments.
"There is a risk of an outbreak of the disease due to rains in the next two months, which we need to be vigilant to control from now on," he warned. He said that the mission launched by the Punjab government to create awareness among the people about the disease was also aimed at making the people aware about the dangers of the disease.
In a meeting with District Planning Committee Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar ,Chairman Satbir Singh Palijhikki, Market Committee Chairman Dravjit Singh and other leaders and officials regarding the development of the constituency, Mr. Tewari reviewed the difficulties encountered in the construction of Phagwara-Rupnagar four lane road. He also discussed about the rural and urban road development in the constituency.He said that during the year 2018-19, 111 km of link roads were being repaired in Banga in the first phase and 299 km in the second phase, out of which the second phase was targeted to be completed by October 31. He said that under the link roads to be repaired in sub-division Banga, estimates of 57 km have also been prepared. Apart from this separate plans have been drawn up for rural and urban development.
On the issue of eviction of Sikh cultivators from the land under their control, he said that the government should come up with an appropriate strategy to prevent displacement so that no one is treated unfairly.
Mr. Pawan Dewan, Chairman, Punjab Large Industries Development Board, Mr. Satbir Singh Pallijiki, Chairman, were also present on the occasion. SDM Deepjot Kaur, Tehsildar Ajitpal Singh, Naib Tehsildar Navdeep Singh, SMO Dr. Sujjo Dr. Ruby, SMO Banga Kavita Bhatia, SMO Dr. Mukandpur Ravinder Singh, D.D.P.O. Banga Sarabjit Singh, Executive Engineer Mandi Board Gurinder Singh Cheema, EO Banga Rajiv Ubraye, CDPO Banga Jaswinder Kaur, CDPO Aur Puran Pankaj Prakash, Secretary Market Committee Virinder Kumar, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Jagjit Singh were present.
