4,698 challaned in Ferozepur for not wearing masks, fined Rs.16.47 lakh

Ferozepur, June 25, 2020: Following the directions of the state government to implement “Mission Fateh”, the city police swung into action and took strict action against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines and traffic rules.
An awareness campaign has also been started by the police department among the people, to curb the spread of coronavirus besides issuing challans for violating COVID-related rules.
SSP Bhupinder Singh said that one of the most important rules to avoid corona is to wear a face mask and not to spit at all in public places, but many people forget these important instructions and make mistakes again and again due to their mistakes put themselves and other people in danger.
Briefing about the challans, SSP said, failing to convince such persons, the police started issuing the challenges and so far 4698 persons have been issued challans, in the district for not wearing masks and collected a fine of Rs.16,47,6000.
In addition, challans have been issued to 219 people for spitting in public places and fines of Rs 37,100 have been levied, he said adding that he hoped people would not make the same mistake again.
SSP said that the society has a big hand in making the Mission Fateh run by the Punjab government, a success. We can win the coronavirus if we follow the lockdown rules completely. Making an appeal to the appeal, he asked the people to follow all the rules issued by the government including wearing masks, keeping social distance, not spitting in public places so that they themselves could avoid the disease and also save the people.
