Jalandhar, June 25, 2020: Aiming to ramp up the bed capacity to meet any unforeseen urgency in the future in Jalandhar, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today inspected DAV University, DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology (DAVIET) and DAV college, to converting these institutes into Covid Care Centres (CCCs) if needed to contain the Covid 19 pandemic more efficaciously under 'Mission Fateh.
The Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that district administration was geared up to meet any kind of situation arising due to Covid 19 pandemic.
Thori also held meetings with authorities of DAV University, DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology Jalandhar and DAV College during the visits. The Deputy Commissioner told them if the need arises in the future, Covid Care Treatment facility would be set up in these institutes and bed capacity would be strengthened.
The Deputy Commissioner also took the round of various sections of these institutes and gave the necessary directions to them.
Thori said that a detailed contingency plan was already prepared and duties were already assigned to the officers of the civil and Police administration to use these facilities if needed in the future as COVID Care Centres.
The Deputy Commissioner solicited the support of the general public to fight and won the war against the Covid-19 pandemic. He asked them to exercise restraint and not get panic due to any reason.
He also appealed them to follow the norms of social distancing, masking and handwashing in their daily routine.
On the occasion, SDM-II Rahul Sindhu, Dr Jai Inder Singh and others were present.
