Jalandhar, June 28, 2020: Sarpanchs and Panchs from across the district along with Rural Development and Panchayat Department today gave a clarion call to people, under ‘Mission Fateh’ launched by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, for making Jalandhar ‘Corona free’ by taking all the possible precautions for checking its spread.
The department of Rural Development and Panchayats led by District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr. Iqbaljit Singh Sahota today undertook a major awareness drive in all the 890 villages of the district. During the drive the Sarpanch and Panchs of the villages along with officers of the Rural Development and Panchayat department made door to door visits for awakening the people regarding the precautions to be undertaken for checking the spread of Corona Virus in the district. The teams sensitized the people about the steps to be taken for ensuring the Covid 19 pandemic was not able to spread its wings further.
During the campaign the teams exhorted the people to wash their hands frequently with soap or sanitizer, wear masks and obey social distancing norms during their day to day activities to keep the Covid-19 pandemic at bay. The people were also apprised about the aims and objective 'Mission Fateh', which was the brainchild of the Chief Minister. The teams informed the people that the mission would emerge as a symbol of firm resolve of the people of Punjab to check the spread of novel coronavirus through discipline, cooperation and compassion.
The teams also emphasized that the Chief Minister has through this mission stressed on the need for adherence to all safety protocols, cooperation with the state government through compliance with the lockdown restrictions and compassion towards the poor. The teams of the officers, Sarpanchs and Panchs also disseminated the message that 'Mission Fateh' was a true reflection of the Punjabi spirit to overcome all odds for emerging victorious even in hostile circumstances.
