Bathinda, 29 June 2020: Education support is a major thrust area for HPCL-Mittal Foundation (HMF) and the foundation is extending support under its CSR activities to 53 Government Schools in 27 vicinity villages. From upgrading school infrastructure to providing free uniform, stationery, drinking water, to setting up libraries and providing bicycles and scholarships, the foundation has been continuously working to enhance the education standard in the local government schools.
Under this initiative, HMF was approached by panchayats of five villages who needed support for construction of science block in Government Senior Secondary School in village Sekhu. With this background and request from 5 Panchayats and School authorities a new science wing which includes total five room (3 Laboratory and 2 classrooms) and one boys’ toilet block were constructed by HPCL-Mittal Foundation. It was inaugurated and handed over to School management committee and Village Panchayat by GM-HL in presence of school Principal, Panchayat representatives, Teachers and CSR team. Total built up area of school building is around 3755 square feet. This makes the Government Senior Secondary School, Sekhu, second such school which would have a science stream among our vicinity villages.
