BSF and CIA thwart smuggling attempt, recover 7.714 kg heroin, pistol and Pakistani SIM
Ferozepur, July 7, 2020: With extra vigil and tip-off by the security agencies, today BSF and CIA staff in a joint operation recovered 7.714 kg heroin, in a Jerry Can from near Border Operation Post – BOP Telu Mal.
In this joint operation, apart from heroin, one pistol, two magazines with 10 rounds and 2 Pakistani 4G SIM cards have also been recovered from across the fence at BSF BOP DTMall near BO No.194/2.
Vigilant troops of BSF and security agencies have once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into India especially when the smugglers are changing the modus operandi all the time. In the past also, there had been a huge recovery of heroin from time to time.
After the recovery, the security agencies minutely study each recovery case with a special focus on links of the Pakistani smugglers with their counterparts on the Indian side and backward and forward linkages.
Meanwhile, a case under NDPS Act has been registered under Sections 21/61/85, at PS Mamdot. The accused Bittu son of Mohinder Singh of village Palla Megha is yet to be arrested.
