Central government allows conducting of examinations by Universities and Institutions
New Delhi, July 06, 2020: A day after the Punjab government announced to cancel all the university and college exams ( except medical courses ) , the Central Government has decided to allow the conduct of exams by Universities and Institutions.
A press note issued today states,
"Ministry of Home Affairs, in a letter to Union Higher Education Secretary, today permitted conduct of examinations by Universities and Institutions. The final Term Examinations are to be compulsorily conducted as per the UGC Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for the Universities; and as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) approved by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare."
Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Cabinet Minister for Human Resource Development in a tweet said
“The UGC has revisited its earlier guidelines related to university examinations. In view of the safety, career progression and placements of the students and their larger interests, after consulting @HMOIndia and @MoHFW_INDIA, it has been decided permitted conduct of examinations by Universities and Institutions.
