Four arrested for attacking on Cabinet Minister’s car
Ferozepur, July 8, 2020: As many as, 8 persons have been booked and 4 arrested, for attacking the car of Cabinet Minister, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, during his tour to the villages to meet the people.
As per the information, when the Minister’s vehicle moved from village Baje Ke to Megha Rai Uttar, suddenly 20-25 persons, who were holding the black flags in their hands, started shouting slogans. The protesters cordoned off the government vehicles including of Minister’s car and hit the car with the stick while some of them in the shape of sin-in dharna.
Out of the eight booked – Rakesh Kumar,, Sukhchain, Jai Lal, Sandeep Kumar Gurmukh Singh, Surinder Kumar, Krishan Lal and Des Raj under Section 2-A Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and 51/60 Disaster Management Act 2005 and Sections 353, 186, 143, 282, 188, 269 and 270, for violating the orders of the Deputy Commissioner. However, four alleged accused have been arrested namely Gurmukh Singh, Surinder Kumar, Krishan Lal and Des Raj and further investigations are on.
Meanwhile, the Krantikari Union Punjab protested for the release of four arrested persons. According to them, the protest was against the demolition of the shop of Hakam Chand in village Bajeke which was in front of the house of Sarpanch Kashmir Lal and since then they are protesting to get justice.
