When the going gets tough, the tough get going. This age old dictum is amply proved in the case of Breena Pandher, a budding sportsperson with steely resolve to excel and left indelible footprints on the sands of sporting arena though her soft spoken demeanor belies the same.
Armed with truckloads of self confidence, this young 16 year old girl is steadily making a mark in the sports sphere with her agenda for the future extremely well defined. This budding sportswoman participated in the 62nd National School Games, held in Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh), Under-14 Basketball event as Member of the UT squad in 2016-17.
Not stopping at this, Breena has also picked up the gun with the clear cut aim at her future targets. She was a participant at the 2019-20, 65th National School Games, from UT Chandigarh side, held in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) Under-17 category where she showed her prowess in Shooting which runs like blood in her veins as her father has been a shooter of repute himself as were her Grandfather and Great Grandfather thus making her a 4th Generation shooter.
She also participated in the 44th State Chandigarh State Shooting Championship held from 23-25th August, 2019 in 10 m Air Rifle event peep sight besides XXIX All India G. V. Mavalankar Shooting Championship in Small Bore Rifke/Pistol events 13-29th September, 2019. She also exhibited her skill in the 39th Zone Shooting Championship in Small Bore Rifle/Pistol, 9th-20th October, 2019 in New Delhi
Maintaining a perfect balance between her sporting engagements and academic pursuits, this student of the Strawberry Fields School in Chandigarh has scored 89.2 percent in her 10th class boards recently.
Given her determination to showcase her sporting talent, very few would believe that Breena battled ‘Dyslexia’ at the age of 10 but like a true warrior displaying the fighting spirit just like Albert Einstein who also was diagnosed with dyslexia, she chose not to be cowed down and stood up to be counted. Battling her demons, she came out with flying colours.
This multisporting player also has another facet to her personality which very few people are aware of. She is an active member of the ‘Samarpan Foundation’ which takes care of the underprivileged children. What makes her efforts more commendable is the fact that she is engaged in the noble cause since the past 13 years.
Certainly, she is a living epitome of the dictum, ‘Fortune Favours the Brave’, thus being an inspiration to countless people.
