Ferozepur, July 15, 2020: Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi, Chairman, Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, and Saed Shamshad Hussain Qadri thanked Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for backing the construction of Hindu Mandir in Islamabad.
In his address at Gurdwara Dera Sahib at Lahore, Qureshi said the Pakistan Prime Minister is following in the footsteps of Mohammad Ali Zinah, who envisioned a secular Pakistan, where all religions were given equal respect.
Qureshi said his foundation extends full support for this venture as Hindus, who have been living in the capital for over seven decades, have been demanding for the construction of the temple and crematorium for a long time now.
He said persons opposing the construction are those who had once said Kafir-e-Azad to Qaide-e-Azam and they had also opposed the Kartarpur Corridor project.
Member of Pakistan National Assembly and leader of Hindu Panchayat Lal Chand Malhi said in case government funds are not available, then the construction will be carried out with the help of Hindu brotherhood.
Protests continue against the construction of the mandir by Maulana Fazloor, head of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, and other parties.
