Ferozepur, July 15, 2020: A section of a key railway line linking at Khasa station between Amritsar and Attari in the Ferozepur Rail Division has been replaced with a modern electronic interlocking system and has since been commissioned.
Earlier, the century-old semaphore signal system was being used for the arrival and departure of trains at this station and now with the replacement of the new system, the journey will be faster and safer.
Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Agarwal informed that with the installation of an electronic interlocking system at Khasa station, trains will run safely and faster. Now, there will be no manual work during train operation which will also increase safety and punctuality in the safe operation of trains.
All safety standards are taken into account while performing this task with the advent of this modern system and it is much easier to repair signals and the chances of signals going defective are extremely low.
