Avneet Sidhu joins as SP Operation, Crime against women at Faridkot

Faridkot 01 August 2010: Olypian and Arjuna Awardee Avneet Kaur Sidhu joined as Supt of Police Operations, Crime against women and Community policing at Faridkot on Friday.
After joining the office, she paid obeisance at prominent Baba Fard Gurdwara at Faridkot. She was given a siropa by the management.
Avneet Sidhu was conferred Arjuna Award in 2008. She is also recipient of Punjab State Maharaja Ranjit Singh award.
Bringing laurels to the country, Ace shooter & Punjab Police star Avneet Kaur Sidhu has won four medals in 2017 World Police and Fire Games Los Angeles (USA). She also won Gold medal, Silver medal and two Bronze medals in different events of Rifle Shooting competitions. She is married to former Indian Hockey team Captain & Arjuna Awardee Rajpal Singh, who is also SP in Punjab Police.
Earlier, Avneet Sidhu has won one gold and one silver medal in the 18th Commonwealth Games 2006 held at Melbourne (Australia). In August 2006, she won an Olympic quota for India in 49th World Shooting Championship held at Zagreb (Croatia). In December 2006, she won a bronze medal in the 15th Asian Games held at Doha (Qatar).
She took part in 28 international competitions and (12 world cups) held in different countries. She had one won more than 150 medals in different competitions.
