Ferozepur to have 60 stadiums in six blocks to promote sports culture
Ferozepur, August 4, 2020: In a bid to promote the culture of the sports among the youths in the border district, the Rural Development and Panchayat department have decided to build 60 stadiums in the Ferozepur.
Disclosing more details, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu said that the department has taken this decision for the district to promote the sports among the youths which could help them to excel in their lives by providing them requisite sports infrastructure.
He said that the ten stadiums would be constructed in each of six blocks including Ferozepur, GhallKhurd, Zira, Guru Har Sahai, Makhu and Mamdot.
Sandhu revealed that one of the stadiums has already built-in GhalKhurd at the cost of the Rs 35 lakh. He said that the construction work on three stadiums in this block and Mamdot and one in Guru Har Sahai, Zira respectively is going on a massive level.
District Development and Panchayat Officer – DDPO, Harjinder Singh said that this initiative would give a platform to the young budding players which help them to groom in the future. He said that the construction work has also ensured the job to the hundreds of the rural people under Mahatma Gandhi-National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MG-NREGA).
He told that this would play a pivotal role in the promotion of sports and other social activities in the district.
